Firstly,
Thanks to Ian for putting together an interesting and very scenic route for last night.

We discussed next weeks ride and came up with a provisional plan to do what is probably best described as “A Tour of Hexham” , starting at the Dyvels Pub in Corbridge (for obvious reasons) and taking in the best bits of Dukeshouse Wood , along the riverside to Warden, up to the Roman Settlement, through the Blue Lagoon Quarry , the challenging off-road climb back to Lowgate and then back into Dukeshouse wood for the final descent! Starting at 18:30hrs and possibly adding in a few extra bits to make a 3 hour ish loop.

Anyone who is interested or has an alternative suggestion please post below

Can't think why anyone would want to post up a different route as this sounds a beut (sorry I had a can of Fosters last night and its working its way through)..and there seems to be lots of new stuff to sample.There is a possibility that I could miss out on this ...but will do my damnest to get there

Ant ....while out riding yesterday I bumped into Terry from Cullercoats who sometimes rides with the Muddybums and said to say hello...having had a bit craic with you a while back...a good bloke we chewed the fat for a little while

Thanks to Ian, Chris ,Paul and Dave for turning out last night and apologies for having to abandon you on the outskirts of Hexham, but I think the final descent through Dukeshouse would have been a bit dodgy without any lights. My fault for not making any allowances for unscheduled stops when planning the ride.
If anyone fancies a similar but slightly shorter ride to the west of Hexham, possibly starting at the Boatside Inn and taking in the Blue Lagoon this time, I would be happy to plan this for the next week or two. ( before it gets too dark again)

Should have been called Le Tour De Hexham, but seriously some real nice bits of singletrack that were new to me.

Thanks Roger for a great ride out last night, I was amazed at how many great off road sections there was around Hexham only a few minutes from where I work, I will definitely be visiting them again.

Thanks Roger for putting together this almost completely new route. Lots of new b/ways and other rights of way?. Very different way to get through Hexham. We must have been up every back passage and illegal orifice the town can offer!!
You were right about the descent back to Dilston, even sandwiched between two lights it had its moments.
I have committed to go to Kielder next Wed. A few of us are looking at Final Countdown(last s/track section of Bloody Bush trail)with a view to plotting changes to some of the berms and jumps to improve the flow. We will be incorporating a ride after, so anyone welcome. I will post up a meeting place and time shortly.
I would be keen to do your Boatside Inn ride the week after(Aug 18th) if that suits everyone else.
